Project Summary

Home grown Lawn needs a Website, having none, they wish to establish themselves with an online presence. The primary goal is to give present and future customers a place to learn about the company’s philosophy and the ability to view and learn about present service offerings. Services available from Home Grown Lawn should be clearly described. They also wish to show off past projects including pictures and testimonials from present customers. Doing the aforementioned items will reduce their inquiring phone calls if general questions can be answered online. Possible long-term goals may be to order and schedule services, pay present bills, and to enter feedback on services, but these are out of scope for the initial offering.

Goals & Objectives (Scope)

The main objective of the site will be to communicate to the prospective customer that Home Grown Lawn cares about the environment, that this eco-friendly approach to landscape and lawncare will reduce the negative impact on the environment and in some cases will improve the eco-balance of their outdoor space.

Provide a space for prospective customers to learn about the company and their specific services.

Provide a space to reflect on past projects and the testimonials from previous customers.

Provide an online mechanism to establish contact with Home Grown Lawn.

Deliver the initial website in 2 months, in time for the landscape and lawncare season.

Deliver the initial offering within the budget of $3,000.

Audience Profile

The typical visitor to Home Grown Lawn will likely be residential homeowners, typically male (51% or more), Between the ages of 40 and 56, Middle class income, likely a professional (Engineer, Manager, Lawyer), someone who is online or technology savvy, someone who is a frequent user of social media.

They typical visitor will have a like-minded belief about caring for the environment. They will in general be people who refuse plastic bags at stores and recycle every piece of rubbish they can. These users are also the type of person who will volunteer their time and give funds to environmental programs and efforts. They believe in conservation.

The typical session would likely include, searching for information about the company, searching services available, testimonials of past projects including pictures, and a method to contact them (Web form, Email, or Phone)

 3. Overview of services available page
 4. A Contact Us page containing several methods of contact mechanism
 5. All pages maintain a theme that is aesthetically pleasing and promotes the idea of eco-friendly

Success Criteria

How do we know when we are done?
When the customer has accepted the requirements as having been satisfied. This may be done using an agile method incrementally, or as a finished user acceptance offering or a combination of techniques and methods.
